Ultraviolet book review!

Hey guys two book reviews for you today. First 'I know what you did last summer' by Lois Duncan. This book was a easy read and at only 211 pages it was also a quick read. It is very different from the film. This book is more of a thriller than a horror. I wouldn't really recommend it was it was pretty forgettable.

I have literally just finished Ultraviolet by R.J Anderson. This was a great book. It goes pretty weird in the last few chapters and you have to trust the writer to pull it back, I think she manages it! The first and last chapters of these books are extremely powerful. The story is about a girl with a fascinating condition called synesthesia (this is where people associate colours or tastes with different words, numbers and letters).

The blurb reads:
Once upon a time there was a girl who was special. This is not her story. Unless you count the part where I kill her.

If you don't want to read the book after that your harder to impress than me!!

Happy reading!!
Till next time :)

Last Breath Book Review

Hey guys!
A few days ago I finished reading the eleventh book in the Morganville Vampire series (Last breath by Rachel Caine). I finished it in around four days which must mean it was a good read.
I don't want to give away too much about the book or the series but I will tell you that it has masses of action and some very emotional parts. The characters and really believable and half way through the first book you feel as if you really know them!
I have really loved reading the whole series of books and recommend them to everyone who enjoys Vampire fiction.
This is the order the of the series:
My collection!

  1. Glass houses
  2. The dead girls dance
  3. Midnight
  4. Feast of fools
  5. Lord of Misrule
  6. Carpe corpus
  7. Fade out
  8. Kiss of death
  9. Ghost town
  10. Bite club
  11. Last breath.

There are a lot of books in the series as you can see and the author has promised at least two more, but don't let that put you off. I'm far from being bored of them!
If you live in the UK I should let you know that you can get books 1-10 in The Works as part of their 3 for £5 deal. That's were I got most of mine!
The first book in the series

Let me know If you've read them already or if you gonna give them ago.
Till next time :)

Now she has one purpose: to escape, find her twin brother, and go home -- before her time runs out forever. What if you knew you exactly when you would die? In our brave new future, DNA engineering has resulted in a terrible genetic flaw. Women die at the age of 20, men at 25. Young girls are being abducted and forced to breed in a desperate attempt to keep humanity ahead of the disease that threatens to eradicate it. 16-year-old Rhine Ellery is kidnapped and sold as a bride to Linden, a rich young man with a dying wife. Even though he is kind to her, Rhine is desperate to escape her gilded cage -- and Linden's cruel father. With the help of Gabriel, a servant she is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in what little time she has left
Lament and Ballad by Maggie Stiefvator and I know what you did
last summer by Lois Duncan.
3 for £5.00
Lament
Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand--one who can see faeries. Deirdre finds herself infatuated with a mysterious boy who enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of thin air. Trouble is, the enigmatic and gorgeous Luke turns out to be a gallowglass--a soulless faerie assassin. An equally hunky--and equally dangerous--dark faerie soldier named Aodhan is also stalking Deirdre. Sworn enemies, Luke and Aodhan each have a deadly assignment from the Faerie Queen. Namely, kill Deirdre before her music captures the attention of the Fae and threatens the Queen's sovereignty. Caught in the crossfire with Deirdre is James, her wisecracking but loyal best friend. Deirdre had been wishing her life weren't so dull, but getting trapped in the middle of a centuries-old faerie war isn't exactly what she had in mind . . .

Ballad
When his best friend, Dee, fell in love with a faerie, James realised she'd never feel the same way about him. The only way he could survive the hurt was to throw himself into music. But James didn't realise this path would lead to Nuala, a faerie who promises she can make all his dreams come true.

I know what you did last summer

Will he stop at terror--or is he out for revenge? This summer, four friends are going to learn that some secrets just won't stay buried.
